Garden centers and plant nurseries sell annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees, vegetables and houseplants, along with soil, mulch, fertilizer, pots and tools. Independent nurseries often grow part of their own stock and carry varieties that do well in the local climate, while big-box garden departments compete on price for common plants. Wholesale nurseries and growers sell to landscapers and sometimes to the public at volume prices; tree nurseries sell balled-and-burlapped and container trees and can deliver and plant large specimens. Specialty growers focus on bonsai, cactus and succulents, orchids or native plants, and hydroponics stores sell lights, nutrients and systems for growing indoors.

Staff was so helpful and kind. The caliber of the plants was top notch. Full, healthy and plentiful. Got a bunch of herbs and all were simply lush and gorgeous. Will be back again soon.

I've never been to Armstrong garden centers before. I guess I was intimidated by the fact it was a garden center and the pricing...Well, I thought would be extremely high compared to a box store. I checked online and found that actually this is not true. The prices are quite competitive. I visited the store today in hopes fulfilling the dream to see a vomited rainbow of colors to fill my large empty pot. (F rats, they ate my tomatoes that previously lived there. No more.) I walk up to Barrie. (Please forgive me if I misremembered his name. We even confirmed our names at the end of the transaction). I told him about what I desired. I love chaos. He immediately read me and offered perhaps that I needed was "organized chaos." Something more "intentional." Wow this man is smart. He shall be crowned garden psychologist. We went through a couple of options. He discussed all the care of the plants need. He is very informative and wonderfully nice man. This was by far a very pleasant first experience with Armstrong. I was able to purchase my more mature version of intentional organized chaos. And I'm very happy with it. The pricing was very fair. It looks very nice. I will return.

Itβs the best garden center. It has everything and if they donβt they will order it. The garden specialists are smart and steer you in the right direction for your area and soil. Their indoor orchids last and are priced right.

Overall, this is definitely my go-to spot for all things gardening in Santa Monica. I highly recommend it to anyone in the area! From the moment you walk in there, you are greeted by a vibrant array of plants and flowers that instantly lifted the spirits. Their selection is pretty big for being so central in the SM neighborhood, offering everything from seasonal blooms to local plants that can satisfy both novice gardeners and seasoned horticulturists. The staff is usually exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable. Last time I bough a lemon tree they ensured that I knew the right tips to take care of them, and also, cherry atop of the cake, should the tree not grow as planned or die, I could return it within a certain time period (I forgot the exact time) - but so far so good, itβs a really good quality tree. With a large outdoor area as well as an indoor one for more sensitive plants, the gardens are well-organized, and it's easy to find what you're looking for. Parking wise they are pretty convenient with a lot in the middle of the outdoor areas. Whether you're looking to start a new garden project or just want to add a touch of greenery to your home, Armstrong Garden Centers
